Galaxy Watch Ultra just keep disconnecting instantly after connecting...

I've had my Galaxy Watch Ultra since its launch this summer. No problem with it, except in two separate occasions.

First one was after maybe a couple of month. It started having trouble staying connected one late afternoon out of nowhere, huge battery drain (like from full to dead in less than 3 hours). Tried troubleshooting but eventually unpaired the watch and had to re-configure it from scratch after that (backup is so useless on Wear OS device....). Solved the issue, but doing a factory was kind of using a bazooka to kill a fly...

Now, this morning, I woke up to a dead watch, no battery left. Had over 60% when I went to bed yesterday so it should still have been running this morning. Put the watch on its charger and it eventually restarted. After two hours I was at 22% battery. I had to shutdown the watch and turn off the option to start the watch when charging to be able to charge it. Once charged, I powered it.... and I realized I had trhe same issue again. Battery drains fast (100% to 40% in less than 2 hours). Watch seems to have issue staying connected in bluetooth, the Wearable app show the watch connected/disconnected continuously. I can see in the bluetooth menu that the watch connect/disconnect continously. It eventually stop "flapping" and the watch stays connected but there doesn's seem to be a real connection, as the notification don't get to the watch and doing anything in the wearable that pull data from the watch (ex.: trying to see battery usage) just doesn't load at all. ALso, the watch feel sluggish and slow to open menu or apps.

I guess that doing a factory reset would solve the problem but that's annyoing, considering that the backup/restore function of Wear os is sooooo limited, you're basically setting it up from scratch again. And I would like to avoid that if possible.

Tried multiple thing, wipe the cache on both app and watch. Multiple reboot. Tried with just bluetooth or with just WiFi. All the same behavior.

Any one with the same issue or any hint on how to solve this? Unparing and repairing the watch will have me doing a full factory reset so that's the last option I would guess.

Thanks.

Hi and welcome, some thoughts are.

- any 3rd party watch apps, they can cause issues, including watch faces

- check the wearable app is upto date.

Sadly the nuclear option of a reset is best, but also do not restore, start from scratch, lest you restore the issue.

I have the same issue - I have the Galaxy S25 Ultra with the Galaxy Watch Ultra.  I just got the watch and phone last month and twice now the watch just drops its connection with the phone and shows up with a screen saying disconnect from phone and reset.  Now that it has happened twice it seems to happen when the watch goes completely dead.  After recharging it, I get the message to "Disconnect from Phone and Reset".  The reconnection takes a good deal of time and I completely lose all my Samsung Pay cards on the watch which takes a substantial amount of time to re activate them.  I don't have any third party apps on the watch.  Pretty much the only thing I've installed is Samsung Pay, and that's not a 3rd party app.

Are you logged into Google as well.
Was the watch paired to anything else before?

I am logged into Google on my phone, yes, but I don't have any of those apps on my watch.  I really only installed Samsung Pay - and oh.. yes I have Samsung Health installed on it too.  Only paired to my phone.  Can you pair it to another phone too?

I eventually found the issue with my particular problem. It was related to Google Assistant (which I don't use). You cannot uninstall it but you can uninstall the updates and it fixed the issue for me.
Your problem seems different than mine though.

You go into Settings, Apps, App list, find "Assistant" and at the time I was able to Uninstall updates.

I just checked and the Uninstall update is greyed as it seems it is impossible to do it now. You could probably try to force stop it and clear data.

Hope this helps.
