Rash on part of my wrist from wearing the new 2018 46mm watchRash on part of my wrist from wearing the new 2018 46mm watch

I received my pre ordered Samsung Gear 46mm 2018 watch on September 7th 2018 and have been wearing it often. Remove it for showering and charging and sometimes I sleep with it.

Recently iv noticed this rash developing and it slightly irritates me. The rash area is sore red and it looks like the skin is stretched or burnt. Th picture does bit show as clear as seen in person.

Iv done some googling and found a few people complain about similar rash on the older gear watches. They state it could be the strap and say to try it on the other hand to see if you have an allergic reaction etc.

I have a bit of an issue with this, I am a contractor and work with my hands, if this causes something more serious or stops me from doing my work it would be financially un-beneficial for me.

I have been tested befoe for allergies and my results came back clear so I dont know exactly what going on.

If anybody from Samsung or otherwise can provide some insight into my situation please let me know asap. It's a bit annoying paying 300 quid for a watch that's going to give me a rash

Cheers

Old thread but I'll say this anyway:

I have the same problem. I'm going to try a "Nickel Metal Allergy Back Protector". Supposedly it doesn't interfere with any of the functionality of the back of the watch.

I've also read using hydrocortisone anti-itch cream with a little bit of numbing stuff in it to put on your wrist under the back of the watch.

I too don't want to have to quit wearing the watch, but after a couple days I have to switch wrists and then stop wearing it all together because they get so itchy / gets a red area underneath the main circle of the watch with all the electronics or whatever. I haven't had a problem with the brand new band the orange band that comes with the Watch Ultra yet. But I used to have issues with the bands as well, and by switching to a fabric band or nylon, that solves that part for me.

I've also started turning the watch around so I wear it on the inside of my wrist when I'm not sleeping or sitting at a desk with my wrists on the table.

Hey @Tjg4

The watch should not be causing any sort of reaction, so this is a little concerning. From what you're describing, it sounds as though the sensor is the root cause, though we can't say for certain without seeing the reaction. I'm going to link a useful guide, just to provide a little more information on wearing the watch. I promise it's not a dig, but rather a guideline!

If you're following the guide and still experiencing the issue, please drop @Sam_UK  a DM, and one of the moderators will pick this up.

Same with me, refer photo. I get a bad rash when I wear it for only 12 hours per day. The rash is under the watch head, not the band. I clean it regularly. It is obviously something to do with the metal or the light it emits etc (not a dirty / sweaty band)

This could be due to radiation poisoning from the watch. This is happening

To me too , and I believe I got a lawsuit

i have galaxy watch 5 pro and a cloth special band because silicon rubs my skin wrong and I still get this directly on the back of the face of my watch and I'm really starting to worry that it's from the electric current it sends into our body to monitor our heart and also body composition if you use that function. I'm not allergic to anything and I don't work out causing it to rub me hard enough to cause irritation. I wear my watch all day & night but remove once or twice a day to wash wrist and back of the watch and charge if needed and let my wrist breathe but it still does this both wrists it doesn't matter
