I have received the new Samsung  Galaxy watch 3. But I have one issue with it. I work out every morning.  According to my watch i only burnt 281 Calories for a 60 minute work according to my Peloton bike I burnt 527 calories that is a big difference.  With the Samsung Galaxy watch 2 their was a difference as well. So I upgraded to the 3 thinking it would fix my problem.  But now I am just irritated that i have spent this much on not just one watch but 2, now and still not counting correctly.  If I spent this much money on a watch, you would want it to work correctly.  Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This watch doesn't calculate calories bared on heart rate but a preprogrammed algorithm so you're activity during the day won't be taken into account unless you've clicked an actual activity or set the watch to a target cal count - it's pretty much pointless for sports related stuff

Guessing its been years since this issue has been flagged and still no changes in new Watch 4 too. Still using standard BMR to calculate calories during a program instead of HR

Is that true? I now have the Watch 4 and when logging 2 different workouts of similar length as "Other Workout" I am getting over 100 cal difference, with more calories burn on the harder workout.

Is based on assumption as there is no information on calorie tracking algorithm changes on Watch 4.. none of the reviewers ever talk about this.. So I have put off my purchase for time being.. but seems like you have discovered the truth? Pls share more

That's fair enough, you are right in that there is no information yet. I noticed that there is no where to change the activity intensity and that my calorie burn for the same workouts I did last week on my Watch 3 seemed different. I've only had it a few days though so I will keep checking.

Thank you, will look forward to your feedback since you actually know what we all are concerned about. I still have few days before I buy the Watch 4, but I am now buying due to other health features like ECG, BP, Body Fat etc which is significant improvement over my old Gear Sport.

Okay, make sure you have a Samsung phone too then as some of those features require it.

I obviously can't be sure but there is much more variety on this watch than the previous one for calories burnedScreenshot_20210910-164523_Samsung Health.jpg
