I have received the new Samsung  Galaxy watch 3. But I have one issue with it. I work out every morning.  According to my watch i only burnt 281 Calories for a 60 minute work according to my Peloton bike I burnt 527 calories that is a big difference.  With the Samsung Galaxy watch 2 their was a difference as well. So I upgraded to the 3 thinking it would fix my problem.  But now I am just irritated that i have spent this much on not just one watch but 2, now and still not counting correctly.  If I spent this much money on a watch, you would want it to work correctly.  Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah its pretty close to what I used to see on my Garmin when set to vigorous, but it seems to mostly be based on time and I certainly don't put the same effort in every time. Close enough though for calorie counting I guess.

It's  a shame I have to use my Apple 4 just for my workouts because it's just more accurate.

Yeah I'm actually planning to get a fitbit or a cheap version maybe a xiaomi mi band just to track calories burned using heart rate as the galaxy watches just don't do it for me in fitness tracking. Seems odd considering they're selling the active as a fitness watch.

Hi folks!  My first post here; just got my Samsung 3 yesterday.

I am truly confused re calorie count with the watch.  Yesterday it counted *3* calories burned --- what the heck?

I saw posts about a recent update, but I updated all s/w upon setup....

Out of the box it is set for a target 300 calories.  Given the proprietary algorithm to calculate calories, how do you set a target? I don't know if my target is only for "exercise burn" calories, total calories, etc.

Any help is very welcome.

Thanks !

Hi All!

Did anyone try it after the Feb update? Did it fix it? The only reason I am not switching to the Samsung sports watches is that they can't track calories based on bpm.

Thanks!

I'm running the latest sw here in the US and unfortunately no change in the way it works.  I'm not holding out hope they change in.  Baffles me why they don't  though.  Best bet is wait till Galaxy watch 4 and hope.

It is the same. Nothing happened with the calorie count. I can do my work out for over an over. I am doing a 30 minute bootcamp ride with peleton, then a 20 strenght  then 10 minute core. I didn't burn 300 calories. I guess the good thing is that I can put my watch on the counter while I am getting ready for work and it still count my calories. I hope they fix it! we will see! but I am not holding my breath. Maybe the next watch.

First day of Galaxy 3 Watch. Calorie count for indoor bike ride seemed ballpark but I noticed the rest of the day counted for next to zero calories. In fact something like 200 calories over more than 15 hours. My old iWatch would have registered something like 25 calories per hour. I walked a bit and did work. Just wondering if anyone can explain this please? Thank you.
