I accidently left the case plugged in fir 12 hours. Will this harm the battery?

Normally no. I left on charge few times and never had problem

There should be an in built in  mechanism to prevent overcharging, some general advice for  earbuds here https://headphoneuniversity.com/can-you-overcharge-wireless-earbuds
