I have updated through USB stick my QN85B hoping to find the Philips Hue sync app in the app store but now the local dimming of my TV stopped working completely! the image is terrible! if this is not fix I will not buy a samsung product again! And i will inform others about it!! my tv is only one month old!!!!!!!!!!
Please Samsung find me a solution!

guys forget about the app....and do not update by any means! if you can stay offline and use the apps from a gaming console do that! i have fixed my tv by changing the motherboard and now i would never risk it again to go back to that horrible image without local dimming.

But it can not be that you are not allowed to connect your TV to the Internet...
In my case, the TV has made an update, although auto update was not checked.

Just wanted to say I've manually installed 1503 as my QN90B did not wanted to update even 1.5 months after update released even with AutoUpdate on.
so OFFICIAL change log says - just faster menu - which is REALLY faster

Hallo,
gerade die Firmware 1503.8 " (246.49 MB mit Datum 14.06.2023)
gezogen" und auf einen GQ65QN90B installiert.
Keine Probleme. Alle Einstellungen und Senderliste wurden übernommen.
Hatte vorab wegen anderer Probleme im Frühjahr 2023 ein neues Mainboard und ein neues Display erhalten.
Viel Erfolg für die Betroffenen.

What about the local dimming and cloudy blacks? Does everything works great for you? Also there is another update 1504 since 14/6/23. Firmware 1503 brought the problem to me (cloudy blacks)….and 1504 fixed nothing! I had to change motherboard in order to downgrade the firmware back to 1020. Everything works great now. I have warranty so everything was free…but i am not gonna risk it again until i am sure that the latest update will not mess up my picture quality.

Happy to find this information. I just bought QN85B 65" and went for uppdate but TV didn't find any newer firmware than 1020. My next plan was to update with usb but now I will wait.
2 questions... Why doesn't tv itself recognize newer firmware? How to prevent it from auto uppdate even with the auto update box unchecked? So afraid it will update itself and destroy the picture.

I had bought mine in May 2023. My TV does not find an update when i do a search. So i decided to manual update with a usb stick (to find the philips hue sync app) and that messed up my screen (firmware 1503) also 1504 did not fix the problem. After samsung changed my motherboard im back to firmware 1020 and everything is fine. I think when the tv does not find an update when you search for it then it wont update automatically. Leave the auto update untick though. Before you update (in the near future) make sure that the update is working great...(from others) before you do so. Check the community.
