I have just purchased some wired Logitech surround sound speakers.  The TV has an optical audio socket and the speakers have a regular speaker jack socket.   I have bought a cable with the audio jack end going into the TV smart cable box and have put the other end into the Logitech speaker socket but they are not working (there is power). Can anyone help?  Thanks.

Just to confirm, are the speakers connected to the cable box? If so, what make is the box? And have you selected the box as the source on the TV?
