TV Volume Keeps Going Down Automatically

I have a Samsung UE50MU6120K TV, which was working fine until about an hour ago. Then, when I turned it back on, the volume keeps automatically going all the way down and the red “standby” light on the bottom of the TV keeps flickering (as if it’s receiving a constant signal from the remote). It’ll accept commands from the remote, including me trying to put the volume back up. But, then it just brings it back down again. My 5.1 sound system display I have connected also says “Volume Min”, as if it’s having the volume turned right the way down.

I’ve checked all the batteries in all my device remotes, reset the TV to factory settings, disconnected and reconnected all the cables. Nothing seems to be resolving it.

What I did now. I took out my remote batteries and now all is fine. Looks like I have to control the TV without a remote. So something on the remote is not fine.

Ah, so it was the TV remote rather than the AppleTV remote? That’s good you’ve at least managed to stop the problem from happening. You might have to get a replacement remote for the actual TV. I know I’ve bought a universal “One For All” remote myself before now. Good luck!

Hi

All the steps I took. First I took out my batteries from my remote. I manually operate my TV from the TV it self. I went to my sound settings. Change it from surround to normal sound. Put batteries back and it's working fine. No error on the volume anymore. Not sure if there was a glitch from the remote to the TV or it was the sound settings. But lucky it's been a month now and no problem
