See this Reddit post for more information. When using any of:
- Wired Xbox controller
- Wireless Xbox controller
- Logitech F710 controller
With Steam Link on several Samsung TV models (QN65QN85DAFXZA,qe55qn90a), the right control stick now adjusts volume in the app and in-game. This makes Steam Link unplayable for people as the right control stick can't be used without making the TV hit 0 or 100% volume.
It looks like this may be related to the 2111 release, as this was working previously and many users are reporting the same problem now. This originally seemed to be a problem with Steam, but now we realize it may be a problem with Samsung's new software.

Samsung US can't read the European forum apparently

But I'm thinking that reaching out to the SamsungTV Twitter account may be a good way to raise awareness of this issue.

Makes you wonder, when Samsung introduces a new feature like this, why do they not also add a setting to disable it?

I have the same problem in a bunch of Dualshock 4 + UE65AU7410UXRU.
Software version: 2111.1
Previously, this problem was not, but in December-January it appeared. Support assures me that it cannot be a software update, but all user complaints indicate otherwise.
I really hope that Samsung will do the right thing and return us properly working support for gamepads in Steam Link. Now they have taken away my ability to play on the big TV in the other room.

I don't have a twitter account, but I reckon the previous comments re: making a public fuss is probably the best way for us squeaky wheels to get some grease.

Same issue here. Just a simple toggle to turn off the tv controls while in the Steam Link app would go a long way!

I'm wondering if the service menu has a setting to disable this type of control. I tried to search it, but I don't really understand the meaning of the options there.

Having the same issue since december. GU-70AU8079
You can't disable this in steam link.

Having the exact same problem. Also holding B on my xbox remote exits the app completely (this makes games unplayable that requires you to press and hold B) like Nioh 2 😞

I eventually gave up and bought a Steam Link on ebay, you can get one for $30-$40. It's clear Samsung isn't supporting this product anymore, which is really frustrating.

I'm having the same issue with Dualsense & PS4 controllers. Also with I hold the circle button the TV just closes the app and redirect back to the home page, really annoying.
