Hi, I am seeing an issue and support does not understand the bug, so please help me find a solution or bug report this:

Brand new, one day old TQ55Q60DAUXXC with a Logitech surround receiver connected via optical cable (No CEC available for this receiver).

  • The universal remote assistant finds the IR codes, tests and completes successfully (even toggles the receiver on and off during testing)
  • After the setup is complete, volume control up/down works as intended
  • When the TV is turned off, the "toggle on/off " IR signal is never sent from the TV or remote, and the surround receiver remains in the on state

Did Samsung developers forget to include the on/off signal as part of the universal remote software?

I have contacted Samsung support and they were not able to understand my issue, and they asked me to check my cable (the optical cable does not transfer data except for audio....). When asked to escalate the case, they told me external devices were not part of their responsibility. I do not think this is an issue with external devices, rather Samsungs implementation of the IR universal remote software in their Tizen TVs.
