Dear Samsung Team,

I’m a proud and happy owner of a Samsung The Frame TV, which I primarily purchased for its Art Mode to showcase my photography. While I enjoy the overall experience, I believe there’s potential for improvement that could make the SmartThings app and Art Mode even more user-friendly and versatile, especially for photography enthusiasts like myself.

Here are some suggestions I’d like to share:

1.Support for Art Mode from USB/HDD

It would be fantastic if Art Mode could directly access photos from a USB drive or external HDD without requiring them to be copied to the TV’s internal storage. This would be particularly helpful for users with thousands of photos stored on external devices.

2.Shuffle Option for Photos

Please consider adding an option in the SmartThings app to shuffle photos during playback, whether they’re stored on the TV or a connected USB device.

3.Flexible Display Options

Allow users to choose how photos are displayed—either within a white frame or filling the entire screen. For vertical (portrait) photos, there should also be an option to fill the screen entirely without black borders.

4.Photo Organization with Folders

Introduce the ability to create and organize folders within “My Photos” on the TV. For instance, users could separate their photos into categories like animals, landscapes, family, or friends, rather than having all pictures lumped into a single folder.

5.Slideshow Memory

When viewing a slideshow from a USB device, it would be a huge improvement if the TV remembered the last viewed photo in case you switch inputs or exit the slideshow. This is especially important for large photo collections.

6.Play Photos and Videos Together

Please provide an option to mix photos and videos in the same slideshow, allowing them to be played sequentially or shuffled. This would make it easier to relive moments from events or trips in a seamless way.

7.Thumbnail View for USB Photos

Browsing photos on a USB drive can be tedious with the current interface. Adding a thumbnail grid view, similar to what we see on computers, would make it much easier to find specific images.

8.Batch Editing in Art Mode

Allow users to batch-edit settings for multiple photos simultaneously. For example, applying the same frame style or transition settings to an entire album, instead of editing each image individually, would save significant time.

9.Expanded Storage Information

Provide clear information about the available storage on the TV for photos, videos, and other files. This would help users better manage what they upload to the TV.

Thank you for continuously improving your products and listening to user feedback. I hope these ideas resonate with your team and look forward to seeing how The Frame and SmartThings app evolve in the future!

Best regards,

Sarananman

All excellent ideas, bravo. But I don’t think samsung has any programmers supporting the Frame. The may bring in a fixer if there are bugs, but that’s probably rare. I know a number of relatives and friends who have Frames and we are all known nd of pleased with them, but there are frustrations .

Here’ my suggestion for us in the Frame community: start a Frame Users group with a newsletter that would make us feel that we belong . Give us news of new art acquisitions and stories about the art and stories of happy photographers using Frames, etc.  This would be a great marketing tool and we users would love it.  I do love my Frame and hope for  a Frame Club of happy users and subscribers. I could even see paying more if my dream of a monthly newsletter came true.

I have found that some elements of your suggestions 2 and 3 are possible using the smart things app
