Smart Remote long press volume button goes to min/max on receiver

I have a Denon receiver connected as the optical audio out of a Samsung The Frame 55”. I successfully defined the universal remote to have volume up and down control the receiver’s volume, but when I hold the volume slider up or down to quickly change volume, instead of moving the volume a few points up/down it slides it all the way to the max/min value, and is stuck there for a while.

Any way to solve this?

Pl follow this thread here - this started a couple of firmwares back - not sure the latest fixes this.
