I have just bought a Samsung series 8 TV. The only problem i am having with it is not being able to watch any Freeview data channels. All the TV channels are ok, but the channels in the 200 range that require an internet connection say 'This service is not available'. I have tried with both a wired and wireless connection and confirmed that the internet connection is working. I have also updated the TV software to version 1402.

Hi @jaydee742 Are streaming services ok? Have you tried a factory reset , switching off Tv for a minute and rebooting router. Another idea is to change the DNS settings. Go to Network-Network Settings-DNS Settings. Change from Automatic to to 8.8.8.8 or 8.8.4.4.

Thanks for replying James. Streaming services are OK. Have tried several factory resets. Also several power off resets of the router and TV. Tried your suggestion of manual config of DNS. Still no joy.

@jaydee742 ok, thanks for confirming. Maybe there is some sort of temporary issue with these channels.

It's certainly got me baffled. I have an older JVC smart TV which works fine. Both TVs are tuned to the same region, and the IP settings are the same (DNS, subnet mask and default gateway). I can't understand why the JVC works but the Samsung doesn't.😕

"Late the the party", as it were, but this seems to be the only thread anywhere about not being able to recieve the Freeview data / Internet channels on the modern Samsung TVs. I have a Q60T, and having the same problem as you describe here - all data channels have the 'This service is not available' blue screen. It seems as though a decision has been made to not support this type of channel, which is concerning, since there are plans to have more IP-delivered (Internet) channels on Freeview, both as separate channels and as 'IP-fallback' channels, for when a decent signal cannot be received. I hope that Samsung are able to offer a software update sometime in the future that enables this functionality... especially, as you say, it is functionality that is available in many older smart TVs (and indeed, my previous one)..!

Thanks for your reply. Since I posted the problem I have found the Channel 211 (Ketchup TV) now works OK, but it is the only one. All the other channels are still unavailable.
