Is it possible when using the search tool in smart hub menu is it possible to get it to search for content within netflix & prime video? It seems to return content from BBC iplayer and YouTube but nothing from netflix or prime?

Hi @Deanlarge
We're not fully sure what you mean here. The Netflix and Prime Video apps you've mentioned should each have their own search facilities.

There is search functionality within the smart hub but it only returns results from bbc iplayer, apple TV, youtube and chilli. Is it possible to get that search to look within netflix & prime video? My bt tv box that I used with my previous tv afforded that functionality but this TV doesn't seem to. If not are there any plans to upgrade the firmware to enable the search tool to do that? I understand there are in app search tools but that is not great when not sure if either platform has the show I want.

I agree. If Roku is able to use universal search through all its apps, why would a more expensive and supposedly superior device wouldn't return searches in all apps in the TV?

I know this is an old thread but how are Samsung just ignoring this? My fire stick that cost £30 has a far superior search function than my £800 tv.

The beauty of having an universal search is if you have multiple streaming services and you don't know where a movie is available you should be able to use the search function. I'll guess i need to get a Chromecast with goggle tv to use this instead if the smart hub, or?

Same things happens in 2023 tv models 😞

It is a shame because the video quality on my Samsung TV outranks my Chromecast, but.. Chromecast has universal search...

Adding another vote for universal search, please!
