Hi all. Hopefull someone can help?
We own a Samsung TV 48" model no UE48JS8500T.
The operating system hasn't had an update in years and now the system is starting to crash on a regular basis. This is extreamly frustrating considering we've only had the TV for about 3 years.
It seems that now Samsung TVs all come with a new operating system called Tizen, which seems a lot better.
What I'd like to know, is can I update this TV to use Tizen, without crashing the system?
Can you download the software and install it?
Any help is much appreciated!
Cheers
DaveH

Could you tell us the current software version on your TV? Go to Menu > Support > Contact Samsung.

hey Chris. The settings say "Current Version 1550"
But in the Contact Samsung bit:
Sub-micom Version: T-HKMDEUS-1023
e-Manual Version: HMUDVBEUJ-1.315
Wired MAC Address: fcf1:36:d4:29:43
Bluetooth Address: 78:BD:BC:5C:C1:9D

We can confirm that version 1550 s the latest software version available for your model of TV. Let's try a reset of the TV to see if that helps. Note, any settings you may have adjusted, will be defaulted to the factory settings that the TV came with. Go to Menu > Support > Self Diagnosis > Reset > PIN (usually set to 0000).

thanks, will try that.
Is there no way to upgrade the operating system to the current samsung standard? The operating system for this tv doesn't have apple tv which is frustrating. The TV is only a few years old, so disapointing if samsung has abandoned support for it.

It is possible that a new update will be released for this model in the future. Therefore, it would be best to keep your updates on automatic so that the TV will be always running on the latest version.
