I have a Firestick 4K Max connected to HDMI 1 and an Intel NUC serving as media center connected to HDMI 4.
Whenever i select one of these inputs through the TV's home menu, HDMI-CEC only works sporadically, meaning that the TV doesn't transmit to the device the commands i input on the remote, forcing me to use those device's remotes.
The only way to make sure that HDMI-CEC works everytime with these devices is to long press the settings menu on the S90C's remote to invoke the input shortcut screen and select the HDMI i want to use from there.
Unfortunately, this seems to be the only way i can control my other devices with the TV's remote. I'm pretty sure this is a software bug and not how the TV is supposed to operate.
This behaviour was already present in the firmware the TV shipped with (1410.1) and is still present in firmware 1420.9
I've upgraded from a Samsung KS8000 TV, where HDMI-CEC worked flawlessly. It's weird that a TV made 8 years has this type of regression regarding the HDMI-CEC protocol.

I have the similar issues,
I have TV streamers (Google & apple tv) and PS5 plugged into a marantz cinema 60. Ive spent days trying to sort out the HDMI CEC issues. Its not gotten tot the point where the TV doesnt detect this signal coming from the marantz reliably.. Its so infuriating, everytime i sit down to watch TV its a drama.
Samsung you have to sort this ***** out. Please test the S90C with marantz receivers and get the CEC protocol working properly.
