Got a off the shelf Qled TV and got given a remote for a different TV as they didn't have the one for that one and said it works with all Qled tVs. The remote only turns the TV on and off. No other buttons on the smart remote work such as changing volume etc. Tried connecting via pressing the play/pause button and the return button for 3 seconds but always fails to connect. Tried to contact samasung but no answer over 50min wait and no online chat! Any help would be great 
@Sheepish95: Please can you confirm the model number of the TV, located on the sticker on the back of the device, and I will check whether it is compatible with the Smart Remote.
@Sheepish95: As it seems to be working intermittently, are you able to try a fresh set of batteries in the remote to see if this helps at all? If not, and the manual pairing has failed, then I'd recommend speaking with the retailer, as the current remote is likely not intended for use with your TV.
