Recording from TV

I am considering buying a Samsung TV.

I know that some TVs allow recording TV programs on a USB device (pendrive or HD).

How can I see from the product specification if a given Samsung TV can register TV programs?

Are there differences in the way programs can be recorded (format, duration, ...)?

Can I reproduce recorded programs on a PC?

Should I use specific USB devices?

Where can I get more information?

Hey @marius_roma1,

Do you have a model code of TV that you have in mind? We can then check the specifications for you. 

Generally, if the specification notes that it has Timeshift, it will allow you to record to a USB HDD. It's not possible to reproduce the recordings - these are encrypted for copyright purposes, and can only be played back on the TV that they were recorded on.
