QN85B is unusable after 1651 firmware update

My QN85B has become unusable after firmware update 1651.

 

- Local brightness adjustment no longer works, the screen is always at maximum backlighting 

 

- screen flickers

 

- screen flickers when using applications

 

Problems are seen in all usage scenarios, even when simply browsing Smart Hub. Factory reset does not help. 

 

I was simply told by local support that it would cost the equivalent of a new TV to repair the panel.

will switch off auto update once this gets fixed

my qn85b fireware version is 1651

when i find this question i did a reset, but that question still not excluded

I had panel replaced, now its fixed

it was under warranty but now i have seitched auto update to off

So it was a hardware problem? Did the technician say anything about it?

Congratulations, you have resolved the situation

But I'm sorry to tell you, my warranty has expired

Even if i ask the original factory to do any replacement, there will be a cost.

So I only hope that the original firmware can be updated as soon as possible

But next time I don’t think I will choose a Samsung TV

I will also tell my relatives and friends about this issue, so that they can carefully evaluate whether they can bear such risks when choosing Samsung TVs.

Technician wasn’t qualified enough. He created videos and sent to samsung. After approval they just changed the panel.

The first thing I did was to turn off auto update

QN85B 85" today I update my firmware to 1651 and same happen with my brightness cannot adjust the brightness(in 100%} and a dark ring start to grow in the top right corner.  Will connect with Samsung tomorrow

I'm sorry, bro. I hope you're under warranty.  Please keep me posted about Samsung response.

I am still waiting for the new firmware and hope it will fix this. It's been over two months since 1651 was released and it's unacceptable to me that Samsung didn’t applied common problem and didn’t release any hotfix. 

According their standard firmware release schedule, we can expect a new version in January/February

I have been in contact with Samsung and they tried to fix it online, with not good result. SAMSUNG will send a service team to solve the problem in January. I will travel now I 3 weeks.I will send a update when they have been here. I'm lucky I have guarantee to May2025.
