Hi -

Does anyone know the voltage output from the USB port on the Samsung QE55Q65A

I am trying to find if there is enough power to power an amazon firestick, or if I need to buy an overpriced adaptor off Amazon

Thanks

The TV port says 5A, i recently re-setup a Firestick and constantly got the underpowered notification (though it worked fine otherwise), but decided to plug power it via a USB plug

Normally 5v but either 0.5amp (USB 2.0) or 1 amp (USB 3.0). Is there a label near the port with any info on it. Which firestick is it? 4k?

However, one thing to consider is TV's sometimes cut the power to the USB ports when switched off, so connecting your Fire Stick directly might have implications if you were to switch off during an update to the stick. Also heard that sticks might increase power draw to 2 amps whilst updating so again will cause problems. I'd use the power adapter.

It does , but I didn’t want to power it by that, as it would mean trailing a power cable to the tv which is wall mounted
