Lip-Sync TV problems reason

 

Currently, it can be a hassle to sync up the video from your TV with the audio from your receiver or soundbar. This is because the TV may be using a heavy amount of processing, while the audio system’s processing takes far less time than the video processing. The result is a delayed output of a video signal relative to an audio signal, or the reverse effect — either way, your sound doesn’t match the timing of your picture.

Thanks - but my experience with the Samsung Q90R TV is that it can receive Video & Sound from an HDMI source and pass that via the OneConect box perfectly synchronised to the TV's display and speakers.  HOWEVER - the sound from the OneConnect's Optical output that goes to a soundbar, receiver or other form of sound system is NOT synchronised.  I think of this as a FAULT and expect Samsung to fix it, but am happy to hear of any other views or advice on this.

Hi. If you connect a device like a Sky Q 4K box through the Q90R soundbar instead of the Samsung TV's one connrect box, does that affect picture quality at all?

Many thanks for this.  That would work perfectly, but I don't have a soundbar.  I have a Denon surround-sound Receiver, and it doesn't pass Sky Q's 4k.  I have used that configuration with Standard HD from Sky Q and it works without lip-sync issues, but there's no point having a UHD TV and not feeding it a UHD signal.

 

I could, of course, buy a new Denon, but that would be £-thousands, and I still believe that it should be reasonable to expect Samsung to be able to keep its video and sound signals synchronised at all outputs.
