Hey guys. I recently got an older TV, the UE55JS8005t - I think internationally they are called JS8500? But the guy who gave it to me have lost the One Connect Mini box some years ago. Since there is no HDMI in the TV, it is pretty useless (I can still use Smart View on my Galaxy phone, but it is massive downgrade from a normal Chromecast).
So, I called Samsung support and they told me, that each One Connect Mini is specific to the TV and even a One Connect Mini for the same model, would not be compatible with mine. Is that true or would there be a possibility for me, to purchase a second-hand One Connect Mini box?
It is my first Samsung TV, so I'm a complete noob in this field, though, I have used a massive amount of hours the last week searching online and also calling the support team.
Thanks for the help!

Hello. The fan in my one connect box for my 2014 TV blew out a year ago. I didn't have a extended repair contract anymore as it had already been repaired a few times and I figured it was going to last a while longer. I spoke to Samsung support on the phone and they told me that you cannot buy a new one connect box from them. It has to be repaired. They told me that if you buy a one connect box from someone on the internet, whether it's new or used, they say it probably won't work or not work completely or correctly because each one connect box is made only for the screen that came with it. Samsung told me there's no guarantee that any other one connect box will work. If you don't have a repair contract and if you can get it fixed from the store that you bought it from and you don't mind paying a few hundred bucks extra I suggest getting it fixed and then buying and renewing a yearly repair contract from the store or repair shop. Do not buy a one connect Box off of the internet for just a couple of hundred bucks. You will be disappointed.

I'm not sure what these lads are talking about at Samsung or the comments because i bought a UN65KS8500FXZA and i didn't know about the box until i paid for it an was in my house. I looked up what box went with my tv. i found that BN91-17814W box was the one i needed (still not sure if this is the correct box my tv originally game with). when i got it in the mail i plugged into my tv an everything worked great. so id say you can definitely use a box from the same model tv. you may even be able to use one that didn't come with your model i think because i saw a Samsung rep talk about how they were meant to be able to be replaced with new updated versions as the years go by so you don't have to replace the whole tv just the one connect box itself. not sure how true that is but that's just what i saw. hope this helps!

Thank you for the comment, it was really helpful. I've been trying to find the corresponding box to my TV, however, I'm a bit unsure of the exact box for my TV - how did you find the correct box? and did you also buy second-hand or is there some newer editions available?
Kind regards
