Hi
TV - QE55Q80TATXXH with the latest software 2505 at this date
HDD - Seagate HDD 2TB.
Worked fine for a while. And yes, there are a lot of recordings from the TV, but it worked fine. Then it didnt. Just one morning there was no "CONTENTS" file visible on the HDD and it was attached to the TV at the time. In the evening it worked and in the morning it didnt.
Then I asked for help and support told me to format the HDD.
I copied my files on another HDD, formatted this one. Put the files back on... Unfortunately didnt work.
Then I came to another idea. I put in a new smaller USB stick. Started a whole new recordings folder, recorded some programs and then copied all of the files to the old HDD.
That actually worked. For a month or so.
NOW the HDD shows up on the TV and all the other movies/tv series (not recorded from the TV, but MP4 and MKV etc) I can see, BUT the "CONTENTS" folder just dissappeared. I can see that the HDD is still full of stuff, but that folder just dissappeared.
Tried the old trick, didnt help.
It will start a NEW folder for recordings "CONTENTS" but the old one doesnt show.
I cant see it on my PC either. I tried to change "hidden files" feature, Seagate registration folder showed up, but not the folder what I am looking for.
And yet the HDD is still full, just that TV recorded folder doesnt show at all, but the files are there somewhere on it...
Otherwise the HDD works with TV and with PC.
And now it started a new "Contents" folder and records new programs and shows them fine. Yet the old one is still there, but not showing.
So what now?
Have I lost ALL THE SHOWS and movies I wanted to see at suitable time?

Unfortunately I did not get any reply (nor help) here.
I did solve this on my own.
So for anybody who actually is looking for help on this, here is what worked for me.
As nobody answered here, I thought as a "the hail Mary", I would try one more time to put the old files back there and then I did disc optimization and defragment. It came out trying to do that, the disc also need repair. Did all those and now it works again.
So it seems, that the TV does mess with discs somehow and You will need (probably) regularly to check the HDD health.
Hope that helps.
