Hi, I’ve recently updated my 2024 65 inch Samsung S90D TV to Tizen 9.0/One UI firmware number 1206. Before the update, there was a setting in game picture expert below HDR10+ gaming called ‘Game HDR’, aka HGIG setting in other TV manufacturers, that I used to have set to basic. With the new update, it has completely vanished from the game settings. I can play games in HDR however I believe that HGIG is not active. Is there any way to turn HGIG/game HDR on in this new update?

Unfortunately this does NOT help...
First of all, we all know that these menu items moved to a different place...
Your 2025 screenshot is from a 2025 model like S95F. There, you actually have both options in the "Game Picture Expert" menu. However, on a 2024 model (I assume no matter which one), after updating to the 2025 SW, this menu only has ONE option, which is "HDR10+ Gaming". The other option "Game HDR" is missing.

Unfortunately the Game HDR setting is not there at all in the new update for S95D. There is no way to enable HGIG because this is missing now.

Yes exactly thank you. Seems like this update has removed game HDR/HGIG functionality for many people. I’m hoping that the moderator will make Samsung aware of this so they can put out a patch as soon as possible to fix this.

Your response is honestly really disrespectful and disappointing to all of us, it's an insult to our intelligence. Yes we know where it is located, the issue is that it has disappeared completely, as per the image below. You're a moderator, so you have the power to actually push this to a higher up. I'm going to also link an article that mentions HGIG being removed too.
So far through AVSforums, we've identified that this is affecting the S90D, S95D and QN90D models. It might be affecting other 2024 models and maybe even the 2023 models that have received the latest Tizen OS update. I couldn't tell you because you deleted the post that I put up to find out which models have been affected!

Edit: I'm also going to mention one thing that I forgot to, the 2106 update is not available on the Samsung support website for any of the models. It was pushed out through an OTA update. This doesn't usually happen, usually the update is uploaded on the website first and then pushed out though OTA, which makes me believe this was either unintentionally sent out or it was rushed out and not tested.
Edit 2: I mean no disrespect to the moderator either, I am frustrated, I just got this TV a week ago and it's already having these problems. We spent a lot of money for our TVs, why are features being removed?

Honestly, it's frustrating that they've merged the threads together. First of all, this is not just affecting S90D users, It's also affecting QN90D users and S95D users, as well as various other 2024 models, It could even be affecting 2023 models, that was the purpose of my thread, to highlight that the removal of HGIG has been caused by the new OS, and isn't singled out to just one model, to find out which models have been affected.
The step by step guide response, misunderstands the problem and ignores the issues that we've been trying to raise. The problem which is that there is no option to select HGIG at all as per the image below.
Edit: Sorry for what looks like a double post, I thought it would reply to the moderator and get lost in page 1 but it has shown up in the latest page too.
Edit 2: In case this comment gets deleted, or the one above etc, the 2106 update is not available on the Samsung support website for any of the models. It was pushed out through an OTA update. This doesn't usually happen, usually the update is uploaded on the website first and then pushed out though OTA. This means either it was accidentally sent out or it was rushed out with no proper testing.
Edit 3: I mean no disrespect to the moderator either, I am frustrated, I just got this TV a week ago and it's already having these problems. We spent a lot of money for our TVs, why are features being removed?

I can personally confirm that Korean/US v1602 has the same issue. They really ought to fix this issue before the software starts rolling out worldwide.

Oh wow, if it's affecting the US/Korean models then this is actually going to be a really big issue, and it is going to actually get a lot of media attention if this is the case. Honestly, we did our part, we raised awareness. They need to release a statement or a fix asap.
We've spent a lot of money to buy these TVs, it is unacceptable that they have removed features that were key in our purchasing decision. It is unacceptable that they released this update without even testing it properly in the first place!
Even if it gets fixed eventually what's to actually stop it from happening again? This is the first time this might have happened but I doubt it'll be the last.

Come on man. Users in this thread spent their time to carefully research, gather info and give precise details to your side about the problem at hand.
I don't think you even bothered to read any of these replies. Either you didnt or your tech department didnt. Your reply is as careless as the update that removed one of the major features of this TV with no way of rolling back. At the same time you merged a bunch of threads that were highlighting the problem on different models / model years.
You do realize there are folks who bought this TV just because this feature was present, right? I've been a Samsung TV user for more than 25 years. Samsung could have done the bare minimum to acknowledge the problem and mentioned a fix was coming. Please understand loyal consumers do not deserve this treatment.

I’m having the same issue. Samsung S95D.
Now that the ‘HDR Game’ option has disappeared, I can’t set the Nintendo Switch 2s HDR correctly. Both suns now disappear at the same time (after about 200 clicks) and the picture looks wrong, as the tv and Switch are forcing HDR at the same time. I’ve spoken to Samsung technical support and they don’t seem to have a clue what I’m talking about.
I spent £2000 on this TV, mainly because of the great gaming reviews. I’m not happy!

I recommend people to contact support but also to take a picture of the TV with no option to select HGIG and attach it during the conversation with support so they understand what the issue is when it's sent higher up the chain, otherwise they're going to think we're stupid and provide that useless step by step guide thinking we don't know how to access the menu when the issue is that it's not on the menu itself
