Hi. I am new here and need help! Have a very old Samsung tv which sounds like about to burst into flames! Been looking at 2020 QLED Samsungs, probably looking at the 49-50inch region as can't really fit bigger than that but want to go bigger than current 43 inch. Problem is I am reading so many horror stories about Freeview I am all but put off. I am a neanderthal in that I just have a tv with Freeview built in. I don't have Freesat or Virgin or Sky, no boxes or dishes, etc. Just straightforward Freeview built in. If I can't get this with a 2020 Samsung tv then I will have to look at other makes which is a shame. Sales staff can't give me detailed enough technical info. Freeview itself says Samsungs don't have Freeview play (no a disaster for me but an irritant) but also that some newer models don't even have Freeview built in! Sales staff unable to tell me which models don't have it. Can anyone here offer me any words of one syllable information and advice before I go mad and explode (as I fear my current tv is about to!)

I have checked on Google and it mentions freeview is available on old modules. Anything before 2016.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I saw that too but sales told me it is in newer models too but can't tell me which ones. I am really worried about buying something I can't use as no idea how I would be able to get it replaced or refunded.

I've just received a Samsung Galaxy 2020 50" TU7110 Crystal UHD 4K HDR Smart TV, on the understanding that it had freeview- I can confirm it does not which is disappointing as I wanted to ditch our Virgin subscription

Yikes! Thanks for this. I'm really torn over what to do now. OLEDS have burn in risk, QLEDs don't seem to have freeview and now even the non QLEDs don't have it.
