Quick update. I determined that it was being caused by excessive heat as the screen was clear till an hour into watching it and then the black line appeared.
Before you ask the ventilation to the back of the tv is substantial as it's in the corner of the room.
I couldn't find any cure online so I've taken the back completely off and it's been working fine ever since.

It's comes and goes. It stays like that for hours then disappears then reappears when it feels like it?

Ps those horizontal white lines inside the black line move like an old Spectrum loading a game.

Sadly I'm not under warranty and I've been told I will need a new screen which is just as much as a new tv? 😞
