Hi All

I have a Samsung UE50NU7470 TV. Every few days I go to switch the tv back on and all my tv channels have disappeared. On the TV guide it says no information and then I have to manually re tune the tv to find all the channels and store them.

This happens every few days after watching the tv daily. I’m tuning the tv to “Freesat” on the tuning options.

Thanks

James

It wasn't clear to me at all but the problem on my TV was actually that the default channel list was flipping back to 'Satellite' instead of 'Freesat'. I think there are various actions which cause this setting to reset, such as opening some apps. I finally learnt that I don't have to actually retune the TV; I have to flip it back to 'Freesat'. I'd be interested to know you have the same problem I had, please try the following: go to the Channel List, move left and up to find a Satellite/Freesat setting and switch it over. The Channel List (which is NOT the same as TV guide) can be accessed directly through the CH LIST button on the old fashioned remote, or on the modern sleek remote you need to Home, navigate right to Live TV and then move up to get a Channel List option (second option).

I have two Samsung Frame TVs.  Neither of them will hold antenna TV channels.  It’s 2023 and this has been a decades long problem with Samsung smart TVs. Can only assume this is intentional as part of their Samsung TV business goals.  Cable companies, baby Bell telecom companies, and streaming services all don’t want us to get OTA antenna TV, now we count Samsung amount these other greedy corporations.

Hi, I've just sent my Samsung tv back for repair for the same fault. I've just found this forum and this thread so I wait with interest to see how the TV is when I get but back.

On the "greyed out" options mentioned. I found that you have to have the TV watching a normal live channel (not samsung plus or any other app) in order to get all the settings in the menu of settings

Think I've found your answer, it worked on mine.

Check tuning settings, there is an option which says " auto retune when in standby mode", this means your TV tries to retune every night, and goes wrong.

It is factory set to "on", turn it "off"

Solved my problem

Yes this is the fix for this issue, make sure this Auto Retune is turned off, it fails to work out what region you're in and which territory to associate your TV with, so fails and next time you turn the TV on after it being in standby for lets say a full night you have no channels tuned in. What a pointless default setting. Thanks to DCH4 for finding this fix. Samsung please turn this pointless default setting off!

I have the same problem James.  Had my smart tv 18 months and constantly losing the guide and having to retune.  That’s if I can get auto tune to work.  Never had such a frustrating tv.

i have two different NEW models of Samsung,  i liked my old one WHICH worked, But Samsung stops updating the software so i could no longer stream.  THese new two have consistent issues. Main annoying one is two to five times a week losing my channel list.  Changing to or from FREE SAT does nothing,  ATT has been out, my router is good,  my download & up load speeds are good,  my fiber optic is good,  so that lets me know its these units, & as EVERYONE i see with a samung has same issue..   So its not all of our services,  it leads back to manufacturing issues.
