Hi there, I recently bought UE50DU7100KXXU and every time me and my wife watch a program on channel 4 app it keep freezing for 1/2 seconds every 30 sec to 1 min. surprisingly it doesn't freeze during the adverts. I have uninstalled the app and installed again. I have reset the TV to factory settings and it's still doing the same thing which is annoying. This is the only app that happens and I don't know what to do. Anyone else have experienced this?

Thank you.

Hi @Brunop2954

I'm sorry to hear about the freezing issue you're experiencing with the Channel 4 app on your UE50DU7100KXXU. I understand how frustrating it can be, especially when the issue only occurs with this particular app.

Here are a few steps we recommend to try and resolve the issue:

  1. Check for Software Updates: Ensure that both your TV and the Channel 4 app are updated to the latest versions. Sometimes, an outdated firmware or app version can cause glitches like the one you're describing.

    • To update your TV's software, go to Settings > Support > Software Update > Update Now.
    • To update the Channel 4 app, visit the Samsung Smart Hub and check if there are any available updates.
  2. Clear Cache & Data for the Channel 4 App: If reinstalling the app didn’t help, try clearing the app’s cache and data:

    • Go to Settings > Apps > Channel 4 app > Clear Cache.
    • If available, also clear Data, but please note this may reset any settings within the app.
  3. Test the Internet Connection: If your TV is connected via Wi-Fi, try switching to a wired connection to see if the issue persists. Sometimes, Wi-Fi can cause interruptions in streaming apps, especially if there are bandwidth fluctuations.

If you're already using a wired connection, try running a network test to ensure your internet speed is adequate for streaming. You can do this by going to Settings > Network > Network Status.

  4. Try Another Streaming Service: Since the issue only happens with the Channel 4 app, try streaming a program from a different app (such as Netflix or YouTube) to see if you experience any similar freezing. If other apps work fine, this could confirm that the issue is isolated to the Channel 4 app.

  5. Reboot the TV and Router: Power cycle both your TV and router. Unplug the TV from the power outlet for about 30 seconds, then plug it back in. Similarly, power cycle your router by unplugging it for 30 seconds and reconnecting it. This can help resolve any temporary issues with streaming.

If the problem still persists after trying the above steps, it may be worth reaching out to Channel 4's support team directly as there could be a compatibility issue between their app and the TV model you're using.

Channel 4 app keeps buffering, as others describe, on my samsung QE43Q65CAUXXU. Really annoying. I tried all the suggestions provided by AsadM, but nothing changed the buffering. All other streaming apps I use work faultlessly.

Hi,

Same here, I just gave up trying to fix it as I use a Fire TV Stick if I need to use channel 4.
