Tv delivered damaged

We got our black Friday sale tv delivered yesterday and once mounted and powered  on found to be full of multicoloured lines on black background half of the screen full. Immediately rang them and informed about everything just 1.5 hour after the delivery. We were asked to wait for 7 to 10 business days. Our Christmas is ruined thinking what will the technical assessment. This damage was never anticipated as there were no signs of physical damage on the box also on the screen. May our hard earned most awaited Christmas present does not leave our family sad. Any body have idea of how else we can prove that it came damaged.

Get back on the phone to the retailer and tell them you want a replacement/refund now and have a read up on distance selling regulations.

Your contract is with the retailer, not the manufacturer.

Hey there

Did you buy your TV direct from Samsung? If yes then you'll need to contact them again to request replacement before Xmas (but I'm not holding out a lot of hope here sadly).

If you bought from another retailer, as @Stuvan has said, you'll need to contact your retailer (not Samsung) and they will replace it and arrange collection of the damaged one. The chances of a refund arriving before Xmas now are also limited as most banks take 3 to 5 days after the retailer has processed it.

Under the Distance Selling Regulations, presuming you didn't go into a store to buy it then have delivered, you do not need a reason in the first 14 days anyway to return an item.

In this case it is damaged so you are covered anyway.
