Hi, my 6 year old Samsung tv (UE43N7470) has started to flicker for up to 10 minutes after switching it on.
The flickering varies from a 1cm black bar at bottom of the screen or sometimes (rarely) provides a double image.
Is it on its way out?

Hi.
I have been looking up for solutions and found this. Hope it helps.
To fix a flickering TV screen, start by checking the cables, antenna, and HDMI connections, ensuring they are securely plugged in. If that doesn't work, try power cycling the TV by unplugging it, waiting a few minutes, and then plugging it back in. Additionally, you can check for software updates, adjust refresh rates in the TV settings, and consider disabling energy-saving modes. If the issue persists, it might be necessary to factory reset the TV.
Troubleshooting Steps:
• 1. Check Cables and Connections:
• Ensure all cables (HDMI, antenna, power) are securely plugged into both the TV and the devices connected to it.
• Try a different HDMI cable or port to see if the issue is with a specific cable.
• If using an antenna, check the signal strength and ensure it's strong enough for good reception.
• 2. Power Cycle the TV:
• Unplug the TV from the power outlet for a few minutes.
• Replug the TV and turn it on.
• 3. Check for Software Updates:
• Go to the TV's settings menu and look for software updates.
• Update the firmware to the latest version.
• 4. Adjust Refresh Rate:
• In the TV's display settings, find the refresh rate option.
• Increase the refresh rate to a higher value, like 60Hz or 120Hz, if supported by your TV.
• 5. Disable Energy-Saving Modes:
• Some TVs have energy-saving modes that can cause flickering.
• Disable these modes in the TV settings.
• 6. Factory Reset (if necessary):
• As a last resort, you can try factory resetting the TV.
• Warning: This will erase all your personal settings and preferences, so make sure to back up any important data before proceeding.

Hi have ried those solutions but I fear the tv is on its last legs.
It is now taking an hour or so to settle down at initial switch on:(
Tvs of a similar type are cheap enough just need to decide between 43DU8000 or 43DU8500, the latter hS a nicer stand so its likely to be the one
