Hello guys!

I bough the Harman Kardon receiver 151S around 2 years ago, I had a TV and I plugged all the HDMIs in the receiver and only one HDMI connected from the receiver to the TV, worked perfect and I never had any problems.

Last week I bought a new Samsung QE65Q90R and as it is 4K, now I have my PS4 and Ziggo box connected to the TV and only one cable from the TV to the receiver in the ARC port, I use the receiver only for sound now.
Right now when I connect had no problems, sound works as expected and now I control the receiver via the TV remote control.

Problem:
When I turn off the TV, it also turns off the receiver, but sometimes when I turn the TV on, not always the receiver starts, and when that happens, even if I power on the receiver manually, the TV doesn't find the receiver. I tried to disconnect and connect the cable again but it does not work, it only works if I unplug the power of the receiver, wait a few seconds and plug it again, then the TV recognizes the audio device.

Also, even if everything is ok, after a few hours the TV control stops working with the receiver... when I press down the volume, in the TV it shows the icon of the receiver and the sound going down, but nothing happens, it only goes down if I use the receiver control... it is like it looses the link after a while.

My Q90R is updated with the latest avaibale firmware.

Any ideas ? 😞

Hi @AndreSilva,

That's odd! I'll ask the product specialist to take a look at your issue and will let you know as soon as I have more information.

Did you already try resetting the TV?

Yes, I did.

Also tried to replace the HDMI cables, still the same problem.

Can you check if AnyNet is on? If you want to turn on the amp together with the TV.

Which HDMI-cable do you have? Perhaps a faster HDMI cable will work.

Yes, AnyNet is on, the proof of that is that the link works for a while.... after around 1h it stops working, even if the TV and the receiver keep powered on.

I'm using the latest model HDMI cable model from AmazonBasics: https://www.amazon.nl/gp/product/B014I8SX4Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I have also tried with 2 other HDMI cables... same problem :thinking-face:

Can you try holding the play/pause button on your Samsung remote for 10 seconds?
