I have an old Galaxy Tab A from 2016 with S Pen. I only use it for Onenote, but the S Pen with it is very thin and small. I was wondering if I get a pen made for the newer Galaxy Tablets will it work with mine?

You usually have to obtain the S Pen for that model.

No, it wont work. Its abit like the S series phones, I cant use a s23 ultra pen on a s22 ultra. Better off getting a stylus off ebay or something, you just wont have the smart features included.

My S pen from the S24 ultra works on the S21 ultra, and the S pen I bought for the S21 ultra is basically a pen for the S22 ultra works on my S24 ultra, it just has to be allowed to use multiple pens

Ah, that explains it. But I think it's different for tablets

The only thing is that the S21 ultra does not support air commands, so that function of both S pens does not work on the S21 ultra

Nope, all S-Pens actually work across from even the original Galaxy Notes S-Pen on any Galaxy S phone (which support it) as well as tablets. The only exceptions I believe are Z-Folds which have specific screens designed to be used with their own respective S-Pens for protective reasons.
