Tab A8 lag

I have had a Tab A8 for the past 3 months and I am immensely disappointed in it. It's slow and the lag is unbelievable when opening an app where I get a white or blank screen for like 10-20 seconds before the app actually opens. Same issue with lockscreen if I use face unlock I get a lag until it opens to homescreen or last app. 

Anyone else getting the same or can offer some tips?

People like you are the reason big brands don't care about there customers. A car has mechanical parts that's why you're maintaining it.

A tablet is just chips soldered together and "maintained" with software.

Big brands like "Samsung" are responsible to achieve/give/release smooth/stable software.

It's  a piece of junk. It takes forever to update your apps, and the lag makes it feel like its 10 year old technology.

I totally agree with you Alan. It has never been particularly snappy but after the last few updates it's hopeless. Sometimes trying to watch say a YouTube video it just won't update the screen properly or the video won't play - Switching to my alternative wifi channel seems to improve it temporarily - until the next time and I change it back.. I still have 25 gig of memory left so I know that isn't the issue. I suspect it is the Samsung One UI as it seemed to get particularly bad once that was fully implemeted.

In the end I had had enough and so much so that I went out and bought myself an IPad A16 on special recently. The difference in performance is night and day. Everything I want to do just works instantly. No more whiring circles, pictures not appearing nor any of the other issues I had had with the Samsung. It is on the exact same Wifi router and system that the Samsung was.

I will never buy another Samsung tablet and will discourage anyone else I know not to buy if they are thinking of getting one. Absolute ***** - and this is coming from a staunch Android user. I will be buying an IPhone next as well and ditching the Samsung Galaxy's I have been buying all these years. Steve Jobs, my sincere apologies !

I just bought an IPad. Havent had any of the rubbish that I got from the Samsung. And I don't perform any maintenance either on it. I will never buy another Samsung - total *****.

Samsung clearly stuffed up with the A8 because like you I get full speed on the Galaxy phone and  rubbish download speeds on the Tablet. Switched to an IPad and full speed downloads again.
Last Samsung anything for me.
