Hi Folks,
I keep getting the message 'This app may not be optimised for your device' for various apps on Google Play Store. I have contacted Google about this but not yet had a reply. I have a Galaxy Tab S2 8" (SM-T713) and it is running Android 7.0. An example app is OneSync by MetaCtrl. But if I visit the same app in Play Store using a Nexus 5 device, the message does not appear. The Nexus 5 is running Android 6.0.1. I have tried other things, which would suggest this is not related to Android version. So, that implies that it may be device related. Is anyone else seeing this when using Play Store?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Charlie, pleased you are sorted, when my AMEX App said not optimised, in my case I went into >Settings, >Display, >Screen zoom & Font. Then for me the screen zoom was 1 block up from small; the Font 2 blocks up from tiny. Did phone Amex, they did call back but no help! As I said before there is a huge amount of self-tuition.... Jeffrey ps I've taken note of your solution - thanks

This message is for spinon explorer. Thank you for your reply. My Galaxy Tab is different than yours. I did a factory reset. One of my options, is to reset my preferences.

If you still have the opportunity to download or install the app even if you get that message go ahead and install it. Some apps will still work (even though it says that) and it won't hurt your device.

Thank you for replying. As previously stated. Your 'solution did not apply to my problem.' The problem has been solved.

Hi Folks,
Having just dug into this a bit further, it appears that Google has a set of 'Quality Guidelines' with which app developers should comply. See https://developer.android.com/docs/quality-guidelines/. It covers a range of topics including Tablet app quality. A developer should check their app against 'The Google Play Console' which then creates an 'Optimization Tips page'. It is not clear to me what happens next.
I guess it would be possible to explore this even further so, for anyone with some time to spare, here is something to keep you occupied on those dark Winter nights!

Thanks for this, most apps seem to have been developed for phone only, so I have to live without being able to flip to landscape, a bit annoying at times but I guess I will have to live with it.

I have the same device, same software release and same problems, particularly with display. My library app will no longer display the whole page in books! I am using portrait mode exclusively. As this is the most important thing for me, the device is practically useless. I have been working with the App developers on this and we seem to be coming to the conclusion that it is device specific! Perhaps the 10" sells better! I would dearly like for a solution to be found.
