On some note 8s and s8s, I've seen another tab called places, found in the phone section. I don't seem to have this. How do I enable it?

That's the issue.

Carphone warehouse sell unlocked phones but they have the xeu csc code on them.

So No intervention from the network as the firmware is direct from Samsung.

Vodafone have their own version of firmware on the phone.

Is it the feature similar to the one in the below link @Ennam ?

Samsung Support Faq > Places <

Yes, that's the one. I don't have that tab at all. My first note 8 (had to return for a different one) had it, but my current note 8 doesn't?

When you launch your phone app where the three options are at the top....

Recents.         Contacts          Places

Whats showing in place of the Places tab ?

Can you screen shot it ?

Can you clear the phone App Cache and data ?

Maybe a moderator can chime in at this stage :smiling-face:

I would normally say that sometimes features can be ommited due to the network being used  / the firmware type i.e. a networks version or Samsung's on a btu CsC Code  / country dependant _ but as you state you've had it on a previous same model!

One very very last resort could be a back up and factory reset!!

Who supplied your phone ? I ask because from googling just now others seem to believe it's a Network removed item @Ennam

Definitely an odd one. The simulator our tech support peeps go by has the Places tab:

Could indeed be something network related (not pointing any specific fingers, but I came across something similar for the S8 here: https://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Android/Places-tab-on-dialer-S8-S8/td-p/2560440 for example).

Like BandOfBrothers suggested, it might be worth doing a data backup and reset to start again with the phone setup.
