Hotspot option missing

I'm using the galaxy tab 7 and trying to tether it to the Samsung m31 phone. The phone seems straightforward enough but the tablet is not showing a tethering hotspot option only bluetooth and USB. This a mystery to me, because when I look on YouTube it shows this option available on the  tab 7.

Can anybody help on this one please?

Is your tablet an LTE/4g/5g model or is it WiFi only?

If you have the WiFi model, you won't have the tethering option.

Tethering is only available to devices that utilise a SIM card, why phones will typically always have this option. Tablets on the otherhand don't exclusively use SIM cards and most are WiFi only models.

What I believe however, is that you are confusing how tethering works. Your tablet does not need to have tethering in order to connect to your phones tether. You simply need to enable the hotspot on your m31 phone and then connect to the SSID from your tablet in the WiFi connections.

Joeeye you are quite correct, it's just a matter of setting the phone as a hotspot and the tablet recognises it.

Thanks for your input, it's greatly appreciated👍
