My refurbished Galaxy S10 has locked after a couple of days and is now asking me for a password!! I used the fingerprint method when initially setting it up. This is a lifeline for me due to current illness which effects my mobility. I need to have contact with Care Management team, medical practice and hospital. Please advise how I can get help to unlock my phone.

Many thanks 😊

Does anyone know if anything happened with this? I have just purchased a brand new Samsung tablet from ebay that now says it's going to be locked. Crazy that this has been a known issue for so many years and samsung are avoiding responsibility

I also had a similar issue, my

husband bought a brand new boxed Samsung phone from an Ebay seller who had 100% positive reviews. He had it for around 2-3 months and all of a sudden yesterday Samsung locked it and he cannot use it.
He has emailed the ebay seller [seekvalue] who appears to have stopped selling items and he has heard nothing. Because it was over the 30 day period he cannot exchange it through ebay and get his monety back. He has paid the full price and there was no device trade in from my husband's part. So it must be the samsung reseller who did not perhaps trade in a phone or pay the amounted required.

I contacted Samsung but they are saying the reseller needs to get in touch with them to resolve this. The ebay seller [seekvalue] is not responding to messages via ebay. So, we are assuming that this plan is not going to work. Because it is 30 days after the phone was bought ebay is not going to do a return and refund, we are going through paypal but so far no responce either. Has anyone had this experience and how did they dealt with it?

Sad Reality

  1. Attempts to Resolve:
    • Offered to pay the outstanding amount to unblock the phone, but the Samsung refused.
    • Contacted eBay for help, but they declined over 30 days they wont help.
    • Tried reaching out to the seller, but no response.
    • Begged  Samsung to at least unlock the phone temporarily to retrieve my data, but they refused.
    • Offered to pay In full for the s24 just to get my data they refused.
    • Some of us have memories that we wish not to loose we urge Samsung to give us a chance to back up our data and then brick the phone its like your chasing away customers from purchasing your products.
  2. It is very sad that i will be moving my entire family from Samsung to iPhone - Just because Samsung does not seem to care about its customers we are like pawns they milk money from and then when it comes to support they tell us to take a walk very frustrated with how they are treating me.

25 Pages of pure pain and Samsung does nothing about it come on Samsung have some dignity and resolve client issues some of us are ready to accept our mistakes and are simply asking for you to give us back our data.

Subject: Frustration with Samsung’s Data Recovery Policy

Hello Samsung Community,

I am writing this post out of sheer frustration and disappointment with Samsung’s handling of my situation. Recently, I purchased a Samsung phone from a seller on eBay, only to discover that the phone had outstanding dues. As a result, Samsung has locked my phone, preventing me from accessing my data.

I understand the need for security measures, but in this case, I am the victim of a fraudulent seller. Despite providing proof of purchase and explaining my situation, Samsung has refused to allow me to recover my data. This data is incredibly important to me, and I am being unfairly penalized for someone else’s mistake.

All I am requesting is the ability to back up my data before returning the phone. I believe this is a reasonable request, given the circumstances. Samsung’s refusal to assist me in this matter is not only frustrating but also disheartening, as I have been a loyal customer for many years.

I hope that by sharing my experience here, Samsung will reconsider their stance and provide a solution that allows me to recover my data. I urge the community to support me in this matter and help bring attention to this issue.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Best regards,
Zain
