Confirm with biometrics before auto fill passwords

Hi I have a Tab S9 Ultra and use Google password manager on it rather than Samsung Pass because I have a pixel phone. In Google settings I have enabled authenticate with biometrics before auto filling passwords but it doesn't do it. Every time I log into a website or app it just auto fills without requesting biometric verification first.

I prefer to have this enabled as an extra layer of security. 

Is anyone else experiencing this? Does anyone have a solution?

On your tablet goto settings - general management - password passkeys and autofill, make your prefered service google then click on preferences then turn on 'authenticate with biotmetrics or lockscreen before filling passwords

As I said in my post I have already done this. The trouble is it doesn't ask for biometrics merely offering to auto fill the password

@GrahamL: You mentioned in your initial post that you had enabled the biometric authentication option for password manager in the Google settings, which might only be applicable to Google apps. The steps provided above by @Abravenewworld are worth exploring, as it should apply biometric authentication to any app or website used on your tablet. 

It may also be the case that biometrics are only required to authenticate an app or website once while using password manager. With this in mind, try visiting a site, or signing in to an app that you have not used since activating this feature, and check to see if the issue persists.

Yes I've done everything in @Abravenewworld post already. Google is my default password manager and at every stage in preferences I've selected authentication by biometrics before auto fill but it doesn't do it. I'm at a loss to understand why tbh.

I've also now tried various websites and it never asks for biometrics before allowing auto fill. Since I've changed all the settings I also tried restarting the device but that has not helped either

I have the Tab S10 Ultra but use Microsoft and Samsung authenticator, I have no problems with them, you might wanna try any Google forum and see if any users of the S9 Ultra has a solution.
Cross platform use is always problematic
