I am trying to download HSBC Mobile App (android) to my Samsung SM-T230 Tablet, but keep getting the following message " This app is incompatible with your device" Also getting the same message with other apps. Can anyone please advise.

I assume your device hasn't been rooted @Ibbotson
I would try clearing your system cache and data and try again.
If no joy you can send a bug report to HSBC. I had to when my HSBC App wouldn't launch on my Samsung Galaxy s7 edge.
That said if it's happening with other Apps I'm assuming sourced from the Official PlayStore then if a system cache clean does not help then I'd back up and Factory Reset.
Again if no joy then I'd ask a Samsung Service Location to run a diagnostic on the device.

Hey @Ibbotson
Something similar to...
"Wipe cache partition.
Power off the device.
Press and hold the Power key, Home key and Up Volume key at the same time.
Release all of the keys when the Android image appears.
Press the Down Volume key to select Wipe cache partition.
Press the Power key.
Once Cache wipe complete appears, press the Power key to select Reboot system now.
The device restarts once the wipe is finished."
