I have a new Tab A8 SM-T290> I do not have access to Wi-Fi Direct on my PC and although Bluetooth connects fine, trying to download pictures to the PC fails to recognise my connection. I, although I can access the Internet using the house hub, I cannot see the Tablet in the house Network. So I am looking to connect via simple USB 2.0. I have tried just plugging it in, but that's no good either. Is there some software I need to install on my PC to enable a USB connection?

Regarding your issue, do you confirm that the Tab cannot "see" the house WiFi network? Or it available on the list but does not connect with it, instead?
Meanwhile, I suggest you this simple procedure:
- Settings
- General management
- Reset
- Reset network settings > Reset Settings
I would like to firmly reassure you that this procedure will only operate over the device general settings, and will not affect any of your personal data.
