Folder size/layout

Please let us change icon layouts or icon sizes for folders.
OneUI 2 and 2.5 had 4 icons across, and it was a vertical free-scroll.

OneUI 3.0 is now 3 icons across, wasted space, icons too big, and a horizontal page scroll.

I can't find a way to change it, but much preferred the 4 icons across.

Can we have layout options like we do for home screen and app screen?

Perhaps the tactic was to get more signups for the Samsung community by throwing in a change that is hard not to hate, and which serves no purpose. I see from the comments it looks like most everyone in this thread, like myself, signed up here just to express our displeasure at this! 

It's really fascinating to see though, how such a small/simple change can make a cutting edge phone feel old and obsolete. It goes to show how granular UI design has needed to become these days.

Agreed! Samsung need to change it back. I'm sure there are those that actually do prefer 3 rows, so at the very least Samsung could have given users the option by making it configurable. Not very difficult to do these days....speaking a member of the development community myself. I should point out, it's not a developer that made the decision, just some ***** who has nothing better to do!

Used to allow 4 icons across and a vertical scroll down, not happy with the new OneUi layout and not happy we can't customise our own screen within folders. icons are way too big.

tbh I struggle to imagine who would prefer 3 rows.  What reason could anyone possibly have for wanting that?  I suppose a case could be made for accessibility needs but I've long felt that when you drill down you should be able to condense your view more, not less.

When I first started up after the update I saw the 3 rows and was momentarily excited.. I was thinking this could only mean they had made it configurable, and that rows of 3 was simply the default, but that I would now be able to choose rows of 5.  Or if not then at least an additional row.  Alas, I have not located any such setting.

@MartynaK Any update from Samsung? Almost 2 months have passed since this issue has been reported.

I too created an account just to add to this thread. I hate the new app icon grid. It looks worse and the 3x3 folders are absolutely terrible. 2 fixes: specify folder grid layout, and allow users to set size of all icons in the grid.

I'm an Android developer. Just give me the launcher code and I'll make the change! It'll be fast, I promise!

I hate the new folder layout so much, I would revert to v2 just to get the old one back. What a horrid idea, why would anyone do this. Who likes scrolling through pages instead of seeing everything at one glance?
