Stacked Notifications - why?

The new iOS-style stacked notifications in OneUI 7 are absolutely awful and far less efficient than what we had before in OneUI 6.1. Previously, I could see multiple notifications from an app grouped together in one compact card. There was no need to expand the card unless I wanted to take action on one of the notifications. Now, I can only see the most recent notification for any given app and I have to expand the stack every time just to see the rest.

This feels like a huge, clunky step backwards so please Samsung at least give us a setting to let us switch back to Android-style listed notifications instead of these stacked ones.

I was enjoying my S24 Ultra up until this change, but I must admit, I'm seriously thinking of heading back to Pixel now.

This was absolutely not the question and of course not a solution for this horrible change. Samsung did it again, bravo

Agreed this update is really bad.  I also miss that when I have multiple messages I can't just click the card to go straight the inbox instead now I have to straight into a message.

Where it has been reported does not make your "solution" any less wrong, incorrect, and unhelpful.

you could try toggling this as seen in my screenshot and let me know if this helped.

Several people have now let you know that it has NOT helped. It is NOT a solution to the issue that was raised.

Have you tried to give feedback to Samsung, that is the only thing you can do right now as there appears to be no solution currently from everyone's feedback. You can give official direct feedback to Samsung devs from the members app see attached screenshot.

I agree with the original post. Stacks are useless because they are very hard to detect, the shading is too small and soft.

Please take it back or give us an option to change it.

Thank you

And we told you unmark it as solution finally!

Have you given feedback to Samsung yet? No point you keep posting the same thing over and over about your hatred of stacked notifications in the community. The majority of Samsung consumers are not complaining about stacked notifications, a few hundred people doesn't make the majority. The fact that those complaining are unable to recognise that its more efficient than showing all the notifications cluttering up the panel and all mixed up takes longer to find messages and easier to miss important messages. Those of us who get hundreds of notifications per hour find stacked notifications much better. I have better things to do during the day than spend time scrolling through hundreds of notifications constantly. Obviously when the thousands of consumers were testing the beta version of this new firmware didn't complain about stacked notifications otherwise I seriously doubt that Samsung would have released it. I personally appreciate stacked notifications because it means I can focus on what is important to me like email's, texts and messages and view my social media later when I have time.

Again give your feedback to the Samsung developers in the members app because posting about it here is for consumers to assist consumers.

Your argument that "the majority of Samsung users aren’t complaining" is flawed. Most people don’t bother reporting issues—they either don’t have the time, don’t know how, or just silently accept things. So using that as a justification is bending the numbers. Silence doesn't equal approval.

Also, saying beta testers didn’t complain is pure assumption. Do you have access to Samsung’s internal beta feedback? If not, you're just guessing. And even if testers didn’t complain, beta testers are not a representative sample of all users. That logic would mean there should be no settings for anything—whatever works for the beta group should work for everyone, right?

You’re also missing a key point: different users have different needs. You like stacked notifications because you get hundreds per hour—fine. Others prefer a flat layout because they want to see messages at a glance without diving into sub-menus. Trying to force one approach on everyone is short-sighted and ignores how diverse Android’s user base really is.

And yes, I did report it via the Samsung Members app. But this thread is also one of the first results on Google when people search about notification stacking in One UI 7. So yes, it is a valid place to make our voices heard. If everyone just quietly reports feedback through the app and never posts publicly, how exactly would you know how many people are unhappy with this change? You wouldn’t. Public discussion matters.

If anything, your attitude of “just stop posting” actually helps Samsung pretend there’s no issue, and backs your claim that “only a few hundred people are complaining.” That’s exactly why people should speak up in public threads like this.

I get you are frustrated with stacked notifications, I get you want to make it known to Samsung and others.

No of course I don't have access to Samsungs figures when it comes to beta testers as you don't have access to consumer numbers who like or dislike stacked notifications so that's a wash. My concern is that a lot of people who are complaining are not telling Samsung directly because they often ask who to complain to. I know you have complained via the correct channels but for the benefit of other members this screenshot will help them to also give feedback to Samsung directly.

This is a consumer forum so it is limited to how much we can assist, i don't work for Samsung and I purchased my devices as you have. The member stars don't have access to Samsung departments and we are limited in our own capacity to what we can do. We can only share potential solutions with others from our own experience.

So you can imagine when other members are attacking us for trying to help them (not referring to you) it's not very nice. We don't mind open conversation such as yours or disagreements just keep it polite.

We don't work for Samsung and we are not paid by Samsung and just like you we paid for our devices. 1747471522274.jpg

In order to provide real help for other customers, could you mark this thread as unsolved until a real solution arrives?
