I recently bought a Samsung ET-WV523 Smartthings Hub V3 2018. It was supposed to be unlocked from Vodafone but it appears not to be the case and I need some advice please?

have you tried to reach the seller or your network provider to check this? Alternatively, you can contact our dedicated SmartThings Team from HERE.

Return it unless you have a Vodafone subscription is it only links with their cloud service. It can't be used elsewhere as validation is via serial number and unlocking is not an option.

I am waiting for an email reply from Samsung. As the seller will take it back, obviously I'd rather keep it & use it myself either way its a terrible waste of a product if its locked up giving the owner no choice or ability of elsewhere once their contract is up. Thats shockingly bad if this is the case. I only bought it because it was the only option to be able to use my new yale smart lock remotely, plus another extra expense of a module for it to be used as a smart device, so it wasn't straight forward or cheap!
