I placed an order on Sunday night for a s23 FE (as a first phone for my son) and selected paypal credit to pay for it. All want through got a confirmation of authorised payment from Paypal and a We have received your order email from Samsung. An hour later they sent an email saying my order was cancelled for not passing the "rigorous security checks" On Monday I contacted Samsung and they said it was a payment issue. I contacted Paypal who said my account was fine (I have space to buy multiple devices if i wanted too so no funding issue) and to just try again. So I did, same story placed the order all went through, confirmation emails etc...1 hour later order cancelled. I contacted everyone again Samsung blamed Paypal, Paypal said that they cant cancel it once its approved and it HAD to be the merchant, I called Samsung back and asked to escalate the support ticket as I was just going round in circles, 3 days on and I'm still waiting for ANY kind of genuine explanation as to where the issue is and its so frustrating as if i cant find the cause of the issue I can do nothing to resolve it. So here I am turning to the community forum in the hopes someone here is better at helping me work this out than any of the people who are paid to do it.

If you have any ideas what i should do next please help.

Unfortunately, we're just users like yourself and unable to influence any decision made by Samsung regarding your credit application. Samsung use a variety of credit reference agencies and unfortunately their decision is final. What I can say is that multiple credit applications might make the ordering process worse and may affect any other credit methods used to make future orders.
One possible solution is to use another browser or device to make the purchase. No guarantee it will work, though.

Thanks for the reply, I was looking for anyone who may have had a similar experience who might have some insight, I found a user from a few years ago who had a problem with repeated cancelled orders and it was because of a difference in the billing address on their order and the billing address on their payment method not matching 100% perfectly. So if I'm lucky someone out there will pop up with a "omg this was me have you checked xyz" and I'll find out where the problem is 🤞🏻

Well, obviously, you're the only person who can say if you've entered conflicting information. In my experience, I can say that multiple attempts at a credit application can trigger a decline.

I have had three or four instances of cancelled payments in the past. It was due to a particular payment card... for some reason used to cause issues.

I switched to an alternative card and it went straight through.

I didn't resolve it, just got frustrated and changed card to another. It might be worth speaking to bank if you dont have a backup and find out why it keeps declining.

Same issue and I can only assume they have an issue with the paypal credit payment option, despite offering it as a method of payment. I am going to attemp to pay via the samsung finance and see if it works, although i had chosen paypal to avoid having to make an upfront payment.

As for the commet regarding multiple credit checks potentially causing issue, this should not be cause for concern considering paypal have already pre approved the credit and have given a credit amount, so samsung should not be doing credit checks on a 3rd party payment option

I finally managed to successfully order just over a week after first trying. I'm not sure which thing made the difference but 1, I tried with no offer codes of any sort (which means I paid £32 more than I should have) and 2, I went through the PayPal credit option as if I were trying to apply rather than just logging into my PayPal account. Honestly I don't know what made it work but I'm frustrated I never got any update from Samsung and also spent more than I wanted to in the process. I hope you manage to get yours ordered.

Hi, could you clarify the 2nd way in a little bit more detail. This is because my orders have been cancelled about 10+ times now citing "rigorous security checks". I opted for PayPal Credit option every time too. I just don't understand why they cancelled my order because my credit limit allow me to practically purchase two of the phones without any issue. Never missed payments before with PayPal credit and even settled the previous bill before the end date. Only with Samsung have I encountered this sort of issue. The chat feature did not help at all. Even gave me the wrong link to file a complaint.
