Are people upgrading every year now to ensure they get a better trade in?

I recently bought the S24 Ultra and noticed the trade in deals are not the best with Samsung Trade in. 

Currently the trade in for S23 Ultra is £520 on Samsung website.

Want to get a feel from this community what everyone does with their mobiles?

I have come from a S10 Plus which I held for 5 years and before that upgraded every year from S1 Galaxy. I did upgrade to S20 Ultra but returned it as it was too blocky so held off until my S10 Plus battery was getting low.

@TheDenny   The best Trade in deals are in the pre order period  rather than the general sale.  I tend to upgrade every every 2-3 years though.

I normally upgrade every year but even though samsung were offering good trade in on S23U I held off on this occasion as I didn't think the S24 offered much. I'm eager to see what the S25 has to offer.

Upgrading this year cost = £200 once I traded in s23 ultra sold the watch 6 for £150 to envirofone and used the disney which saves me £95.

The whole package also would of cost a bit more but I pre ordered for the storage upgrade.

I traded in my Samsung Fold³ when I purchased the Samsung Galaxy s²³ Ultra however this time I have kept my s²³ Ultra and also kept my s²² Ultra too as back up phone's. 

So no trade in when purchasing my Samsung Galaxy s²⁴ Ultra. 

It's a matter of opinion whether Samsung provide a fair trade in price. 

Some have found a better return by selling to family , friends or work colleagues.

I upgrade when my contact expires or just before..my device is the S22ultra so I'm looking at the S25 as that's when I due to. I think Samsung give out the better deals this year cos of the AI features so everybody was rushing to get one but it's left a few disappointed after some of the issues within the display and camera.

I upgraded from Pixel 6 Pro which was a decent enough device to the S23 Ultra then again to the S24 Ultra.

To be honest I've not experienced many issues with the S24 Ultra at all. Some minor tweaks areb on my wish list but not worth the ongoing negativity in my view.

But hey? As I'm not complaining, not a news story is it eh?
