Time to get looking forward to 10th July 2024 Unpacked Event in Paris.

Think by now we all know will be the Galaxy Fold and Galaxy Flip devices.

But what else and will there be any surprises.

Would love a Fold but really concerned about build quality given the horror stories on here

Ive had three now and no issues
My Fold 3 had the protector lift a very tiny bit. But didn't affect anything

I'll sit in the middle on this, my 3 and 4 fold had the same issue about a year in, but trying to go back to a slab is not an option, so fold it is for me, no slab or flip.

@Piper123 it's not all negative about the Fold and Flip phones. 😎 Typically we will see more people signing upto a forum to vent. 

I loved using my Samsung Fold³  

@Obsydian I thought the same when I owned the Samsung Fold³ , but I soon adapted to the Samsung Galaxy s²³ Ultra  😉

The fold 4 was realistically the first version I could justify investing yeh. Yeh I've had a couple of issues (screen protector that's designed to only last 12 months and the dreaded hinge issue), but I'm upgrading to the fold 6 this year.

Why? Firstly the hinge has changed in the fold 5, so don't expect that issue again. Secondly, the screen protector is only designed to last 12 months and you don't have to have it for the warranty to be valid. Lastly, all folding devices have customer service problems and I don't want to go back (and Samsung are rumoured to be supplying Apple with the folding screen tech, so expecting the fold to get the tech before Apple announce).

Just make sure you have phone insurance and don't assume the warranty will cover you. Always try a claim on the warranty, but expect it to be rejected.

Well the Z Fold 5 I have has been brilliant. It's been in constant use since launch.
Screen Protector is perfectly fine as well.
I don't have any insurance with mine, but that's a chance I take I guess. Just figured my Fold 4 had no issues either.
As for Apple. That rumour mill has been going for a few years now. Who knows if they will bring their version of a folding device. But they usually use two or three screen manufacturers. Samsung being one of them. So will have to wait and see
