Did you know, when ordering online, the way you pay affords you EXTRA PROTECTION if things go wrong?

SECTION 75 OF THE CONSUMER CREDIT ACT IS YOUR BEST FRIEND.....

A couple of KEY POINTS....

1. Purchase price for the item must be between £100 & £30000. (if for example you buy a charger for £60 and a screen protector for £40 even though the purchase price is £100 you will NOT be covered here)

2 You must have paid via CREDIT CARD

Why is this so important?

Simply, if the item you purchased meets the spend criteria above and something goes wrong, both the RETAILER AND THE CARD COMPANY ARE LEGALLY LIABLE. So if the retailer fails to resolve the issue (or goes bust) then you can approach the card company and claim from them using Section 75.

Whenever I purchase anything where the singular item is more than £100, I ALWAYS USE MY CREDIT CARD FOR THIS VERY REASON. I pay it off immediately so no interest to pay but still get the protection.

Please think about this when buying an item over £100. Section 75 is your safety net and your best friend.

(there are some exceptions but if you are ordering from Samsung, and the item you purchase is over £100 then you are covered when using your UK credit card).

By way of examples, earlier today a member had a fridge freezer arrived damaged. He paid by credit card.

Section 75 likely to be his best friend if the retailer (Samsung). doesn't resolve.

Buying a new phone (from any UK website or company). then pay by credit card. If the phone breaks etc, both the phone retailer and the card company are liable.

Like I said, there are exclusions but if you live in the UK and have a UK credit card and the item purchase price is £100 - £30000 there is a good chance you are covered. 🤞

You're absolutely right, pay by credit or debit card and one gets all-sorts of rights you don't get with payment with cash! Ollie-Golly 👏

Not by debit card. Section 75 only applies to CREDIT cards.

Now... if only Samsung could acknowledge they are trying to act illegally... it's strange how Samsung suddenly goes quiet when stuff like this is pointed out...

Why would anybody trust these charlatans? Next year I'll take my chances elsewhere... I've threatened it long enough, but what's to lose over dealing with a bunch of crooks?!
