Your phone is locked

I was updating apps through the play store and then this happened and locked me pit of the device, the only way I could access my phone was factory resetting.. has anyone experienced this on the beta?

Nope, never seen that from the many years of beta testing, I also don't recall a thread about this topic. Glad a reset worked at least.

Did you get phone as part of a trade-in at all? Samsung will lock devices if they have not received the device you traded in.

No I bought it outright from the Samsung store, I contacted support and they asked that. I've had the phone for months and it's never happened.. didn't seem to they know what to do, they gave me an email to contact but I thought I'd take matters into my own hands and just reset it. I lost most of my stuff though as I stupidly didn't have a backup

No I didn't, I was just updating normal apps downloaded through the playstore

If you think you didn't done anything wrong then you have to take it to a Samsung store

Definitely agree this should be reported as a critical bug as any loss of data due to being locked out is not good.

Guessing you tried connecting via USB to a computer & unable to access either?

Also do you know what app may have updated at the time?
