I have a weird mute volume icon which is present on every home screen and overlays in all apps. I can move it around but it doesn't appear to do anything and I can't get rid of it.

My phone was in do not disturb mode when I installed one UI 4.0 and that's the only thing I can think of as a bug.

Hi, I have a similar problem, I have a floating icon, I can't get rid of. It's really annoying 😒

Is it similar to the one in my screenshot? It's so annoying that I think I'll have to roll back to one UI 3.1 as I can't find any way to get rid of it

I've worked out what the icon does at least - it's a hard lock for the volume for some reason. Why would anyone want that?! The icon is misleading as it appears to mute but all it does is prevent the current volume from being changed. Fine but for crying out loud does it need to be a permanent on screen option?

Found it!! Buried in the accessibility and then hearing enhancements menu in settings there's a toggle for the on-screen icon. Why would that be ON by default?! If anyone finds this thread and it helps, search mute in settings and then tap the 'mute all sounds' option (not the toggle) and you'll see the option for the shortcut toggle. This is the icon I can't get rid of it. The guys at the Samsung store couldn't work it out either.Screenshot_20211006-203445_One UI Home_resized_20211006-213109_30714.jpg

Hi @MagnusOpum,

Thank you for sharing the path to disable the on-screen icon. I am sure it will be useful to many users! 😉

Best regards,

Martyna

infigured it out!! Search accessibility>accessibility button (under advanced settings) > accessibility button (under shortcuts) >  actions. Then press each icon on or off depending on what you would like 🥴😁
