I just updated my Samsung Galaxy S10+. The upper part of the screen does not respond when i touch it. It is the part where the camera is. From left to right, just that part does not respond to my touches (although the screen test in Members says everything is alright. It knows my finger is swiping across the screen, but I can't pull the notification bar down). Does anyone have some tips or tricks? Much appreciated!

Hello,

This sounds like a hardware issue.
To test this I suggest you do a factory reset.
Make a backup of all your data and do the reset. If it still doessent work after than send it in for repair.

The weird thing is that i can scroll the notification bar down on the locked screen. When the phone is unlocked however, i can't.

Alright, I would still do a factory reset to make sure its not hardware related.

Hello Martijn,
Great to see that you want to know how things went. I was thinking about a reset, but now is not a great time for me to do so. It is kind of weird, because the screen does work. I can pull the notification bar down when the screen is locked. However i can't when apps are open. The tricks i now use are pop-up opening of apps and rotation of the screen.

Thank you for your interest,

Have you also tried the SafeMode? For more information about the SafeMode, take a look at our website: How to start my Galaxy device in Safe mode | Samsung UK

Keep us posted, please!

Kind regards,

I just tried it. It works perfectly fine in safe mode, but when i leave it, the problem stays the same

Well that means an app of a third party is responsible. With the remote service my colleague can take a look from a distance, the other option is a hard reset but first make a back-up. Install your phone as new and get the apps one by one from the Play Store.

Kind regards,

Martijn

I would honestly prefer a remote service with a college over a hard reset. Wat are the possibilities
